Which License We Use
The SRD 5.1 is offered under two licenses: the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License and the Open Game License 1.0a. The Grim Tome uses SRD 5.1 content under CC BY 4.0 only. We do not use it under the Open Game License.
Changes Made
SRD 5.1 content on this platform has been reformatted for storage and display. For example, monster stat blocks and equipment tables are stored as structured data and rendered in the platform's own layout. Where the structured dataset we imported differed from the printed SRD 5.1, we corrected the values against the SRD 5.1 PDF: equipment costs, weights, weapon properties, damage and armor statistics are taken from the printed tables, and a few missing sentences were restored. Descriptions written by the Open5e project rather than taken from the SRD are not used. No game rules, statistics, or text were altered in substance.
Where It Appears
SRD 5.1 content appears in several places:
- ·the Bestiary's SRD Monster Library, where a Dungeon Master can copy a creature into their own world;
- ·spell references, shown when a spell named in a stat block matches an SRD spell;
- ·species references, shown for a character's or NPC's race when it matches an SRD species;
- ·the SRD Equipment Library (armor, weapons, adventuring gear, tools, mounts, tack and vehicles, waterborne vehicles, trade goods, poisons and equipment packs), shown as references beside matching item names in character inventories.
Open5e
Monster, spell, species and equipment data was sourced from the Open5e project's structured dataset (document "srd-2014"). Open5e is an open-source community project that provides SRD content in a developer-friendly format. We gratefully acknowledge its maintainers and contributors.

- ·Snapshot: Data imported from a specific, pinned snapshot of the open5e-api repository (commit

Some equipment entries printed in the SRD 5.1 but absent from that dataset, such as the mounts, most tack and the equipment packs, were transcribed directly from the SRD 5.1 PDF. The licensed content itself is the SRD 5.1 by Wizards of the Coast, credited above. Open5e is credited here as the source of the structured data we imported.
